CHRYSTIAN RUIZ AMERICANS WARM-UP JERSEY DESIGN.

ALLEN, TX, October 28, 2021 – The Allen AMERICANS Professional Hockey Club, “AA” affiliate of the Seattle Kraken, today announced the first of three winners of the #SeasonXIII warm-up jersey design contest.

Over the course of the 2021-22 season, the AMERICANS will wear three (3) different warm-up jerseys. Texas-based designer Chrystian Kaleb Ruiz (Instagram: ckruizdesigns) is the first to be showcased following production with ECHL jersey provider Athletic Knit.

Ruiz describes his “American Heritage” concept as “a sand-colored sweater featuring an early American upholsterer off-white background similar to the 13 colonies flag to represent history and work. The separated red and blue sleeve pays homage to the Texas flag patch worn on previous AMERICANS jerseys. The eagle logo is a fan favorite and ties in with the heritage of the United States, with stars down the opposite sleeve, alternating from red to blue.”

“The talent that came through for this contest was truly impressive,” shared Elisabeth Schmitt, Manager of Social Media & Fan Engagement for the AMERICANS. “Chrystian’s concept connects to our theme of #SeasonXIII and borrows from past AMERICANS sweaters with the alternating blue and red stars. We are excited to receive the first shipment from Athletic Knit and get these jerseys on our players as soon as possible.”

A 29-year-old graphic designer from Plano, Ruiz has 10 years’ experience in visual design and fashion retail. He’s a small business owner who understands the importance of design and has loved and played the game of hockey since the age of 3 living in Amarillo with the Amarillo Rattlers.

The contest featured more than 30 entries from a variety of graphic designers and individuals from around the nation. Three winning designs were chosen, with each designer getting the chance to help craft their release. A public voting period was announced by the AMERICANS in September. Revisions were made to the winning designs to meet team brand guidelines and sponsor requirements, along with minor alterations following production discussions with the AMERICANS’ primary uniform provider, Athletic Knit.

The AMERICANS will sport each of the warm-up looks over the course of #SeasonXIII, after which they will be auctioned off, with proceeds going to support the club’s philanthropic arm, the Red Lamp Foundation.

Stay tuned to the AMERICANS on Facebook and other social media to find out when each jersey will first hit the ice.

The AMERICANS continue their championship campaign in #SeasonXIII on October 30 (7:05 p.m.) and October 31 (2:05 p.m.), facing off against the Utah Grizzlies. For tickets, visit Allenamericans.com/tickets or call 972-912-1000.

Methods for Everyone.

This response is important for our ability to learn from mistakes, but it alsogives rise to self-criticism, because it is part of the threat-protection system. In other words, what keeps us safe can go too far, and keep us too safe. In fact it can trigger self-censoring.

One touch of a red-hot stove is usually all we need to avoid that kind of discomfort in the future. The same is true as we experience the emotional sensation of stress from our first instances of social rejection or ridicule. We quickly learn to fear and thus automatically avoid potentially stressful situations of all kinds, including the most common of all.
